We are incredibly blessed to be living in the 11th District - a remarkable piece of land that captures a tremendous range of energy, talent, and geography.
In the northern part of our district, mountain lions and bears roam the forests. In the southern area, herons nest in wetlands in the shadow of a bustling international airport. In between, lie heavily populated and diverse communities of nearly a quarter million brilliant, passionate and creative people.
The 11th District is bounded by Mulholland Drive on the north, the Pacific Ocean on the west, Imperial Highway on the south, and (roughly) the 405 Freeway on the east. It encompasses the distinct communities of Brentwood, Del Rey, Mar Vista, Marina del Rey, Pacific Palisades, Palms, Playa del Rey, Playa Vista, Venice, West LA and Westchester.
The district is known for some of its incredible landmarks: world-famous Venice Beach, Los Angeles International Airport, and the sprawling Veterans Administration facility in West LA.
The district is distinguished by its many environmental treasures: the Santa Monica Mountains, Will Rogers Beach, Dockweiler Beach, the Ballona Wetlands, the Venice Canals, Ballona Lagoon Marine Preserve, Del Rey Lagoon, West Bluffs, the Sacred Springs at University High School, the El Segundo Blue Butterfly Preserve.
